| @ Esjaygee, loved this quiz, and a while back I made my iTunes playlist of the 100 Greatest Songs of the 80's with the only criteria being that it had to be a Billboard hit in the 80's. "Seven Year Ache" was my #9 favourite of that decade (and "Under Pressure" was somewhere in the 30's). Minor quibble though. I tend to classify a song in the year it hit, which would make "Personal Jesus" a 90's song, but that may be your preference. It just makes sense to consider when the song was a hit. If a song debuts in the last week of December and hits #1 in March the following year, that would be an indication of when it's a hit (i.e. - the peak of its popularity.) But as I said, a minor quibble and I won't have much argument with anyone who put "Seven Year Ache" in a quiz. However... being a chart junkie... I'm 101% sure that "Rumours" peaked at #8. (PS - I too have mad love for that Scritti Politti song) |
