I would dispute Madness being called a one-hit wonder. Along with the Specials they were the leaders of the ska revival of the late 70's/early 80's. "One Step Beyond" was a biggest hit in England than "Our House". It just didn't do as well in the U.S.

Video Killed The Radio Star was released and charted in 1979. I also wouldn't describe Frankie Goes To Hollywood as a one-hit wonder. They had 3 singles hit #1 in the UK and Two Tribes was a big hit around the world.

usually it's a one-hit wonder to the country of the quiz creator.

Fun quiz. One hit wonder quizzes have been done so often, although I must say you had a few offerings here that were uncommon, perhaps even unique. Some feedback. Please accept last names. Also, the one hit wonder tag is pretty dubious when the band has had another song or 2 chart in the top 20 or several songs make the top 100, as is the case here (Quarterflash & Scandal for instance).

Not to pile on, but a few of these artists had multiple TOP 10 hits, at least in the U.S. The "C'est la Vie" artist also hit the top 10 with "Wot's It to Ya"; the "Obsession" artist likewise with "Room to Move"; "Died in Your Arms" with "I've Been in Love Before"; and "What's on Your Mind" with "Walking Away." Several others had multiple top 40 hits, and the "Tenderness" artist even had a higher-charting hit ("I'll Take You There") in the '90s.

Men Without Hats also had a hit with "Pop Goes the World".

madness had 3 US Top 40 Billboard hits 1982-It Must Be Love #33,1983-Our House #7,1983-House of Fun #40 . Hardly A one hit wonder (as per wikipedia)

Okay, I know we can nitpick on most bands, but removing Madness to add Devo doesn't really fix anything.

... I don't want to make things worse, but here in the UK at least, a-ha had possibly a bigger hit with "The Sun Always Shines on TV", Frankie had 3 platinum no. 1 singles, Dexys Midnight Runners produced tons of other hit singles ("Geno" "Jackie Wilson Said"), and Haircut 100 had a few other hits ("Favourite Shirts" was probably the biggest in the UK). Obviously, this is based on American chart performances, and that's fine but I think it needs to be put in the notes. Because... well, for us Brits, this doesn't read like a very convincing one hit wonder list! :P

Dexys Midnight Runners should not have an apostrophe.

The quiz does say that it is based on the US charts. Not sure if this has always been there but if so it's rather pointless pointing to the UK chart to say someone is not a one-hit wonder in the US. I was very surprised that Frankie Goes to Hollywood was here but on checking Relax at number one was their only US top 40.
