If anybody has any suggestions for any of the letters, I would be happy to hear them!

You spelled "Nicholas Nickleby" wrong. Also, for some reason it won't accept me typing "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Other than that, good quiz.

You still have the 'l' and the 'e' switched for Nickleby.

This is a neat quiz, but the Canterbury Tales isn't technically a novel :)

It's difficult to keep track of what letter one is on.

Could you have another column for the letter? It's not clear that's it's alphabetical, for one, though that one I did remember, and if you miss, say, three in a row, it's hard to get back on track. I'd say the letter would probably be more important than the year.

I don't think the entry for I qualifies as a novel. Other than that, though, I really enjoyed this quiz.

It would be really helpful to have the letter, and I had a hard time following the lines across to figure out which author I was on.

You could change In Cold Blood to It by Stephen King. If you don't want two by the same author, change The Eyes of the Dragon to East of Eden by John Steinbeck and then change the Red Pony to A Room with a View by E.M. Forster. I'm sure there is a simpler way to do it but at least these are all novels.

Sue Grafton clearly wasn't trying too hard on q. I guess quill and quilt weren't murderous enough.

I would have opted for "Knickerless Nickleby" by Edmund Wells, but to each their own. :)

According to the "One Word Stephen King Novels" quiz, Stephen King also wrote Misery in 1987. That should count as well.

Wow, that was fun. A couple of tough ones in there. The Q was a little too easy though. Maybe go for Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson or maybe Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice? I have absolutely no other suggestions for X!

Nice mix of classic/popular; familiar/obscure. Too much time, though.

I forgot the first-letter theme till most of the way through. Knowing the first letter only helped for three or four of them though, as most of these authors are famous for only one or two works.

Great quiz! A quick correction: The Red Pony by John Steinbeck was written in 1933, not 1937. Still a big 5 from me.

Curious to see quizzes of mine recreated by an editor days or weeks later, even using some of the same clues, and getting lots of plays.

If you want to eliminate some of the more obscure answers, you could use "East of Eden" by Steinbeck for E and replace the Red Pony with The Red Badge of Courage or Robinson Crusoe.
