| I don't really agree with Sun Yat-sen as the "founder" of China. Yes, he was the first leader of China after the era of dynasties ended, but Mao established a completely new government after World War II. I guess you're saying that Sun is similar to someone like Bismarck or Garibaldi, but unlike them he didn't re-unite lands that were previously fractured - he presided over the same lands that the Q'ing Dynasty ruled. All Sun did was take over a new government after overthrowing the old regime, which was exactly what Mao did. So, I think either China doesn't _have_ a founder or it's Mao. |
