clever quiz. Should accept "psone" for playstation and "gcn" for gamecube 15 is likely to stump alot of ppl(as will #5 cause that doesnt exactly look like the genesis controller i remember)
Comment below threshold:

That was so easy. But that's probably 'cause I have good eyesight, so I could see the consoles' names on many of them.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 05:42 GMT
Excellent. I would also take xb360 for the 360. Only tricky one for me was the neo geo (ancient :P). But excellent quiz, 5/5 stars and a nomination for you.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 06:03 GMT
Should accept 2600 for the Atari.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 07:37 GMT
Why not just use the standard 3 button Genesis controller?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 07:39 GMT
should accept nintendo for nes...i had to go back cuz i was wondering why that wasnt working
Apr 9th, 2010 at 09:03 GMT
Neo Geo's separating the men from the boys.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 10:14 GMT
Nice, but you need to shop the names off the controllers, e.g. GameBoy, PSP.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 11:01 GMT
The Atari 2600 was originally called the Atari Video Computer System (VCS) so you could accept VCS. I tried that but if people type Atari then they get it anyways. Not that it matters, but Dreamcast is the only Sega system to not have Sega in front of the platform name. Also, for a quiz about naming consoles, I'd recommend typing out full names for the answers being displayed rather than using abbreviations (NES, SNES, Neo Geo). Obviously most people taking the quiz know what they are, but if the quiz were to be published then you might get a lot of non-gamers taking it.

1) It's much easier when you can SEE a lot of the names. 2) Three of them are systems, not controllers. By nature, they don't have controllers. 3) Why use a PS1 controller that looks exactly the same as the PS2 controller? Why not use the original, analog-stick-free PS1 controller?
Apr 9th, 2010 at 13:00 GMT
You need to accept MegaDrive (the european name) for Genesis.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 13:41 GMT
Excellent quiz, the only point I was going to make has already been made by Matty, that the Genesis was called Mega Drive over here and it would be nice to have that accepted too.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 13:53 GMT
You should have thrown 3do's controller in there for a tough one.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 14:28 GMT
How do 25% of quiz takers miss arguably the most iconic video game controller ever to be made?? (the NES controller)
Apr 9th, 2010 at 14:30 GMT
Not bad, but you might want to include some older systems to make it more challenging. I'm not a gamer by any stretch but I still got them all (although Neo Geo was just a shot in the dark).
Apr 9th, 2010 at 15:23 GMT
We need intelevision, turbo graphics 16, sega saturn, etc; Nice quiz!
Apr 9th, 2010 at 15:51 GMT
because nintendo isnt accepted. i see u used the dragon plus 2 for the ps1 controller...i agree with kicking. use the grey non analog
Apr 9th, 2010 at 16:01 GMT
You could use alternate controllers too, if you wanted to increase the difficulty (i.e., Powerglove, the NES Advantage, the NES, the new PS3 Motion, etc.)
Apr 9th, 2010 at 16:02 GMT
The third one in the list above was supposed to be the NES Max; sorry. Hit the turbo button and went too fast.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 17:25 GMT
All right I change some things up, let me know what you think now
Apr 9th, 2010 at 18:43 GMT
great quiz. i'm surprised how many people know the 3DO controller. thats the only one i missed!
Apr 9th, 2010 at 19:04 GMT
That's the Super Famicom controller not the SNES controller. At least accept Super Famicom
Apr 9th, 2010 at 19:07 GMT
Grr. Should have accepted 3d0....
Apr 9th, 2010 at 20:15 GMT
yeah, you should accept famicom and Nintendo for the nes and super famicom for snes
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:17 GMT
Would've recognized the old Neo-Geo arcade-style stick in a second, but the pad stumped me.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:21 GMT
Dreamcast- most underrated system of all time
Apr 9th, 2010 at 21:41 GMT
You should use the original 3 button genesis controller
Apr 9th, 2010 at 23:01 GMT
Number 2 is without a wire, so it's PS3. You should accept both answers, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 23:16 GMT
I've seen genesis controllers like that so I accept that it's a genesis controller, but when I see Sega controller shape + 6 buttons my first thought is "Sega Saturn" (and yeah, you can see the difference when looking closer, but the 6 button variant controller is confusing.)
Apr 10th, 2010 at 03:25 GMT
What about the Turbo Graphics 16 controller? I can't even remember what that thing looked like. I do remember the games being super small!
Apr 10th, 2010 at 03:37 GMT
What, no Pong?
Apr 10th, 2010 at 06:10 GMT
Needs a different graphic for the Genesis. That one looks just like a 3rd party Saturn controller.

Apr 10th, 2010 at 22:27 GMT
only one I missed was 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, cant believe no one is getting intellivision, they were the ****.
Apr 10th, 2010 at 23:50 GMT
@schumigt: actually that's just a PS2 controller. A PS3 controller has a round 'PS' button in place of the PS2 controllers rectangular 'analog' button and light. They are identical except for that and the cord. It would be better to have a picture with a cord though. Another thing though, where's the PS3 controller in this quiz? Why is the logo on the XBox blacked out, while the other controllers aren't?
Apr 11th, 2010 at 02:04 GMT
huh, i was just about to comment that the ps2 controller could also have been a ps3 one but lol i forgot all about the home button. Great quiz.

LONG LIVE DREAMCAST!
Apr 12th, 2010 at 01:58 GMT
baww no sega saturn?
Apr 13th, 2010 at 17:44 GMT
The PS2 controller confused me because PS2 controllers had wires...the PS3 controller looks exactly the same but is wireless. May need to add a wire or something.
Apr 14th, 2010 at 20:04 GMT
u should just accept super nintendo
