	I did pretty well for an American - 14. I would have gotten quite a few more if "almost" counted. Now I know why Sussex, Yorkshire and Manchester wouldn't work.

	When you type 'Hampshire', the isle of wight highlights beige as if it is part of the county, then when you type in 'isle of wight' it highlights blue. @Tom Benedict: Middlesex is a historic county, not a ceremonial county. If you head to the 'historic counties of England' quiz it should accept it.

	As a Yank, thought I ought to know these counties if Brits can learn the fifty states. Studied a map of England and now got all 48. Don't ask me anything about Wales or Scotland, though!

	West Midlands used to be part of Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire. Birmingham in Warwks, Wolverhampton area in Stafford and the area around Halesowen in Worcs.

	Yes I agree with 'Whole lotta sporcle ' Isle of Wight is an island and is part of Hampshire. I didn't find all the counties in the allotted time but I can name the 50 States of the US and I am now learning the State Capitals

	You can't dispute the Bristol! It rules and is so it's own county! I missed 3 - merseyside, greater manchester and tyne and wear! Will continue til i get them all! I have one question though - Which is the correct counties quiz to do? Are these the new counties or just different..?!?!?

	No we aren't... We should be really :( We're taught most states, which is stupid considering we aren't even taught are own counties! I find this really confusing, I know half the old counties and half the new ones...

	Hmm, some toughies at the end. I got 43 out of 48, not bad for an Aussie I spose. But I lived in kent for 2 years so I thought I might have been a bit closer to 100%. Missed West Yorks, East Riding ot Yorks, Greater Manchester, City of London and Rutland.

	No we're not taught them at school and that's probably because unlike the states of the USA, they're not really that important. These days counties are just ceremonial, as the title of the quiz suggests. Some counties are not a single administrative area any more. I know Berkshire is split into Wokingham borough, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire and some others I think.

	The title of this game is misleading - this is the ceremonial map (in terms of which areas have a Lord Lieutenant, like anyone knows/cares!) but it is not a "geographical" map in any meaningful sense.

	I got them all correct first time - not a bad time either - but only England can have counties that mean little or nothing. I understand that the ceremonial county of Cheshire in now split into four real counties: Haltanshire; Warringtonshire; East Cheshire; and, West Cheshire. Now for a list of highway authorities or education authorites - that would get the blood coursing.
