| Biased source. I've talked to a lot of people who's learned Mandarin, and they say that it's not that hard at all. And what makes Arabic so hard to learn? Yes, it has a different alphabet, and they don't write vowels, but other than that, it's just like any other foreign language. What about the African Khoisan languages, they are based on clicks. Or sign languages? Uralic languages (Finnish, Hungarian) have more cases and tenses than there are words in the dictionary. The Pirahã language doesn't have any numbers or colors and can be both whistled and hummed, sounds rather hard, don't you think? |
