| Just because more people got Hatteberg than other better players, it doesn't imply "people think the A's were good cause of Hatteberg." I loved the book, haven't seen the movie, but I can tell you that one of the most replayed images of the movie is a slow motion clip of Scott Hatteberg hitting a home run, with his name right in your face. So yea, people are probably going to remember that. He was also a pseudo posterboy for the Moneyball style...walks and OBP, and mediocre skills. That's why people remember him, not because he was a great player. |
