I always end up checking that second Milwaukee pitcher's career statistics on quizzes like this because I find what he did so hard to believe.

i know very little about baseball, but i was sure that Gagne would be on here. please do mention that it's not every pitcher that was sub-3.00era (whatever your parameters are--i don't know).

Gagne is a closer this is obviously for starters. It is much more impressive to have a sub 3.00 era as a starter than as a closer.

Generally in a season, rate stats are minumim 162 innings for pitchers and 502 plate appearances for hitters unless otherwise stated. Those are the parameters for appearing on the season leader boards.
