Yeah, I was sure I just played a quiz regarding the freest presses that included Israel.

Just rechecked the source and it states that this rating for Israel is only for "activities outside its own territory". For example such as its military activities in the Gaza Strip to which Israeli and foreign journalists were denied access and for "[bombarding] buildings housing Palestinian news media". I have updated the quiz to make this a little more clear, cheers.

Also the 50 countries with the greatest press freedom quiz (http://www.sporcle.com/games/marsco/media_freedom) has not yet been updated for the 2009 figures. Israel has since dropped to 93rd position (from 46th).

I fixed DRC for you, thanks for pointing it out. Italy is 49th (down slightly from 44th last year).

So Israel gives more freedom to its press to report what happens in Gaza and the West Bank than Hamas/the Palestinian Authority does?

Interesting to see a lot of the countries are Muslim. If Islam is so good why can't any one comment about it. The rest are all communist or run by crazies. Interesting to see Singapore and Malyasia on the list though. They are quite developed
