You're missing a T on the Led Zep guy. And please accept John Lydon.

No Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Neil Young or Tom Petty????

@sammyhain: The reason why Lennon isn't on this list is because he was only co-frontman of the Beatles. Agree totally with Young and Petty though.

If Lennon's excluded for being a co-frontman then Sam and Dave should be excluded too, and it shouldn't say they're solo.

Plant is fixed, Lydon has been added, and Sam and Dave are now listed as a duo. Keep in mind, these are not my choices, they are from Digital Dream Door. Lennon is listed at #100, Young at #117, Dylan at #149 and Petty at #161.

@duckie, yeah my previous comment was in no way directed at you. I was just shocked that none of those guys cracked the top 50. Now I'm even more shocked that they're all at 100 or higher(lower?)

Wow. No Dylan, Aretha, John Fogerty, Marvin Gaye, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Ruffin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ray Davies, Phil Lynott, Eric Clapton, Smokey Robinson, Joan Jett, Roger Waters, Geddy Lee, Rod Stewart, Steve Winwood....wow. Just, wow.

good quiz, but kind of tough, like taking stabs in the dark

It is a bit like a stab in the dark. Shall I add the second 50 and make it the 100 best frontmen? Would it be more enjoyable if I put a famous song by the solo acts? Feedback is appreciated. By the way Paul McCartney comes in at #71.

I've changed it to the top 100 according to the source and took out the word "solo" to list individual songs, instead, for people who weren't in bands. However, I can't seem to get the title changed on the "user created" board. Help!?

I'm confused: doesn't "frontman" mean the lead singer of a band/group? A lot of these are solo acts (Sam Cooke? Madonna? Donna Summer? What bands did they front?). Rod Stewart and Janis Joplin did front their own bands before going solo; you should list their bands as clues instead of their (solo) songs.

CCR did Proud Mary first, not Tina Turner. So the frontman should be John Fogerty, the frontman of CCR.

Could you accept 'Van Zant' and 'Bon Jovi' as surnames as well? You did check 'accept surnames', but Sporcle doesn't recognize two word surnames like those mentioned.
