	Like Sheep_Mentality said, Yorkshire isn't a British city: it's a county and York is the town. But it would make a good bonus with other region names sometimes mistaken for cities like Ithica, Attica, Avon, Berkshire, Cornwall etc.

	You forgot Geneva and Lyons. Both bigger than many on your list. (Yes, Lyon is the French version, but it is Lyons in English for some reason.) Syracuse is a major city in NY, and Siracusa in Italy; again Syracuse in English.

	@ dsantesteban - Bradford and Leeds are in West Yorkshire not the East Riding of Yorkshire. The figures you have for Bradford and Leeds are correct-ish, the 1.5 million is the Leeds-Bradford Urban area I think also including the likes of Huddersfield and Wakefield etc. Leeds is about 700,000ish? and Bradford (depending on what figures you use) is either about 300,000 or just shy of 500,000 - the latter is the urban area of the City of Bradford, the metropolitan borough including places like Shipley, Bingley etc

	also I'm pretty sure the population figures you have for Cardiff, Derby and Bristol are for urban areas rather than the cities themselves. Birmingham, the UK's 2nd largest city, is a bit over 1 million and I'm positive Derby and Cardiff aren't in the top 5, I think Bristol is about 7th or 8th?

	Yeah, these are all figures for urban areas. That's why I used Yorkshire, because (according to Wikipedia), the urban area is called "East Yorkshire". I think it's close enough to put it as an actual answer and not a bonus.

	The population figures are highly questionable. Derby is a relatively small city, the entire urban are has a population of 229,407. It ranks 18th in England (so would be in the top 30 or so for the UK I'd imagine). 1.5 million is absolutely crazy - not for the city, not for the urban area either! Where did you get the numbers from? Where did you get the number for Yorkshire? Yorkshire contains Leeds, Bradford, York, Hull, Sheffield, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield, Barnsley, all sizable towns/cities. The figure you give is dramatically too low.

	If you're going by urban areas you've got to say so in the title/directions and only take the largest/main city of each urban area. I would advise against it as they are highly unreliable. For example, despite living in New Jersey, I am in the Philadelphia urban area. Additionally, Philly's urban area has a population of nearly 5.5M (a million more people than the entire Republic of Ireland) but 4 million of those "Philadelphians" don't live in the city.

	CLARIFICATION: The source for the populations is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_metropolitan_areas_in_Europe_by_population - I took every city and punched it into Google Maps. If it existed, then I used it. If there wasn't any match, then I didn't use it. The population figures are all from the first column.

	@Riko: I think urban areas are better. Firstly, there are very few cities in the world that single-handedly have 1,000,000 and many less in Europe due to how the towns are divided. London for example with a population of around 13,000,000 going by urban areas, would only have roughly 11,000 people if I went by the actual cities, the largest cities in that area would be Ealing (~300K), Hounslow (~225K) and Westminster (~200K)

	@bismark76: There's a town called Westfield, which contains some hamlet called Barcelona, but there really isn't any actual village, town, or city called Barcelona in new york

	Going two comments back, that's at least my understanding of how London works, where the metropolitain area is like a county, with a bunch of separate cities in it (Ealing, Hounslow, London, Westminster, etc.) - sorry if its wrong

	Well, I live there and 'Yorkshire' doesn't actually exist anymore as a unit and hasn't for years. It's now divided into areas, primarily North Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, and South Yorkshire. None are even remotely considered cities, and the only one which really qualifies as a recognisable 'urban area' is West Yorkshire. But the major city there is Leeds, which is already in the quiz. Really, Yorkshire shouldn't be an answer.
