Fun, hope this becomes a series, though the musical groups could be a bit more diverse...

Suggestion: Accept "Ace and Gary" for the superheroes... also starts with 'A', right?

Armored Saint? I was around in the 80s and I've never heard of them. A little obscure for this type of quiz, IMO. How about Alabama, Air Supply, Adam Ant, A Flock of Seagulls, Asia? Otherwise, I thought it was a challenging but fun quiz.
Jul 12th, 2011 at 00:06 GMT
@debbiedoesnothin: Yeah, looking at the stats, I've concluded "Armored Saint" was a bad idea. Replacement pending...
@ras0723: Now accepted.

Who is that next to Artax in the picture? Is it "Atreyu"? Might want to count him too.
Jul 14th, 2011 at 05:35 GMT
Did you try typing Atreyu? I put in a bonus for him when I first made the quiz (to avoid "what about Atreyu" comments.) But the category is Animal Characters

Man...I kept trying to figure out how to spell 'Ambiguously' and then I ended up getting the name wrong. =.= I need to watch more SNL.

You only require "Alicia" for Alicia Keys, but we have to enter Avril Lavigne's first AND last name?
Apr 28th, 2012 at 11:29 GMT
Gripe time (minor).... if you accept "Andy" for Andy Capp, "Alicia" for Alicia Keys and "Alice" for Alice in Wonderland (three very common names), why would you not accept "Avril" for Avril Lavigne??? I tried this many times and screwed up the spelling on the last names. I mean how many Avrils are their in pop culture?
Apr 28th, 2012 at 12:28 GMT
Clearly more people need to watch Community. Or Inspector Spacetime.
Apr 28th, 2012 at 13:35 GMT
I agree with some of the above commenters, whats with needing Avrils full name?
Apr 28th, 2012 at 13:52 GMT
Why do we start with 6?
Apr 28th, 2012 at 13:58 GMT
Thank you for accepting Apu instead of making us write out his full name.

Is it me, or have six images suddenly disappeared (or perhaps were never there) and all you need is 24 correct answers to get "all 30"? The results page show the top six guessed answers as blank 100%'s. (??)
Apr 28th, 2012 at 17:41 GMT
Annyong's real name is Hell-oh
Apr 28th, 2012 at 17:57 GMT
You also could accept Arthur Curry for Aquaman.

American Mcgee's Alice isn't a video game based on an actual movie

That stings a bit, Pogues, but I appreciate the sympathetic acknowledgement. This quiz, and the entire series that follows it, was probably the most bizarre labor of love I've ever endeavored to on this site. But hey, this is how my mind works and I'm happy how it turned out. So I'm very grateful to Sporcle for acknowledging it as their own (as well as a particular admin for telling me how to cut it down to manageable quiz.)
To those asking about the six freebie answers: yup, you get six freebie answers. The
way I could figure to get the category headings in there was to make them actual answers in the quiz that automatically register as correct when you click to start.
Oh, and the Avril thing was an oversight on my part and not some sinister spelling test. It's been fixed.

Anyone see all that jazz at the bottom?
Apr 29th, 2012 at 13:45 GMT
Would've been a better quiz, except I'm too young to know almost any of these.

Thanks for accepting bad spellings of Annyong. Annyong!

Yay for knowing the owl was named after an ancient Greek and trying Aristotle. I have no clue who Ari Gold is (and given that he's wearing a suit, I probably wouldn't care to know anyway)
