Ah, gives me chills just thinking of Patrick Henry's famous declaration, "Give me cake or give me death!" Loved his dessert, that crazy Patrick Henry.

@Hejman: I humbly suggest that "dolce" in italian simply means dessert and "torta" is the more specific word for cake.

Shame you couldn't add a question where the choice was "- or death" Unless there's some bizarre language that has the same word for both!

@Beatlezfann: Not sure why you had to tell Hejman that, but I've swapped out "dolce" with "torta" (which then caused me to swap Lithuanian out with French, but it's all good now). Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks for the publish Sporcle! Love the blurb on the language page.

It's amazing that I got 13/16 considering I guessed on all but one of them. Perhaps I'm a secret language genius. ;D

Once I missed the Russian one, I had the answer for the Greek one. The stupid thing is that I speak some Russian, but have no concept of Greek at all. The Germanic ones are fairly simple, because they're so similar to the English words. Fun quiz.

"tod", as all German nouns, needs to be capitalized.

@druhutch: sorry but seeing hejman as the first comment i assumed he made the quiz (knowing that hejman makes lots and lots of quizzes) but anyway, you made yourself a fine quiz worth of publishment!

It is strange how cake and death have so many connections. People can die if they eat too much of it, the quote that Patrick Henry said in Hejman's comment, there is death by chocolate (cake) and the death eater thing mentioned by rockgolf, because you eat cake (i know it's a bit of a stretch...).

@WredAguyW, I was going to use that reference in my above comment somehow, but I couldn't incorporate death into it. I didn't think about her getting guillotined. Clever. I'm learning about her in history currently.

Too Euro-centric. No Hebrew? Booo.... also, seeing "xDeath" made me think of FFV.

Hey, whoever just downvoted me... I wasn't making a joke, moron, if you actually look at this quiz, EVERY language bar ONE is European, so therefore this quiz is Euro-centric, can't deny that. Didn't say that's a bad thing... get a life.
