| Great idea for a quiz |
 | crazylegs: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 11:43 GMT | | 23 points |
| I feel like Polish people are constantly surprised by the content of movies if these are the ideas they're given going in. |
 | facef: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 11:55 GMT | | 5 points |
| I think there'd be no harm in adding a few more minutes. |
 | godpaul25: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 12:17 GMT | | 1 point |
| who the hell got ghostbusters right? |
 | FretfulP: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 13:53 GMT | | 4 points |
| I got Ghostbusters! On the other hand, I guessed A Midsummer Night's Dream for Spaceballs, which is probably about as far off as you can conceivably get. |
 | sabresfan: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 14:14 GMT | | 11 points |
| @godpaul: I got Ghostbusters, but I was guessing it for a different poster (the Close Enounters one) lol. And I got spaceballs from "Moranis", although in retrospect Barf should have been a giveaway. |
 | billymac72: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 19:59 GMT | | 10 points |
| Great quiz! It would be interesting if that Nicholson poster was for "About Schmidt." I would say the completely missed the point! Actually, Turkey must've gotten that movie awfully late because the picture is definitely from "The Shining" which came out five years later. |
 | JimmyJames: | Feb 29th, 2012 at 23:43 GMT | | 1 point |
| Thanks for the shout-out up top! Out of curiosity, how do you get the formatting with the answers under the posters, instead of all at the bottom? |
 | zutluvip: | Mar 1st, 2012 at 01:39 GMT | | 11 points |
| Interesting...the Army of Darkness poster says "Captain Supermarket". |
 | druhutch: | Mar 1st, 2012 at 04:39 GMT | | 3 points |
@JimmyJames: unfortunately this format is not available through the regular creation tools and you will not, at least at this point in Sporcle-evolution, be able to use it for your quiz. If you want you can e-mail me and I can explain in less vague terms. @zutluvip: That is interesting. Thanks for the translation. He's also standing on cans of "Bruce Campbell Soup''. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. |

| The Yugoslavian poster for Deliverance very appropriately reminds me of Requiem for a Dream... |
 | LevellingUp: | Mar 1st, 2012 at 19:42 GMT | | 1 point |
| Cool! "Guguk" is Turkish for "cuckoo". |
 | statephone: | Mar 2nd, 2012 at 02:44 GMT | | 2 points |
| I took a version of this last year, and at least when the answers were revealed of the ones I missed I thought "ok, I can see that." But these...especially Big and Ghostbusters, they seem to bear no relation to anything in the movie. |
 | NagMeNot: | Mar 3rd, 2012 at 09:57 GMT | | 3 points |
| The American Werewolf poster looks like one of the awful 'Confessions Of' films so popular in the 1970s in the UK. |
 | carbon_rod: | Mar 3rd, 2012 at 22:18 GMT | | 2 points |
| If you mean that "Carry On" series, I totally agree with you. |
 | bondfool: | Mar 4th, 2012 at 06:07 GMT | | 3 points |
| @statephone If it weren't for the "Zoltar" at the top of the poster, I never would have gotten Big. |
 | bondfool: | Mar 4th, 2012 at 06:09 GMT | | 10 points |
| Everyone remembers Raiders of the Lost Ark's three most important characters, Indiana Jones, the big German dude who got chopped up by the plane propeller, and Verne Troyer painted gold. |
 | adhair: | Mar 4th, 2012 at 22:12 GMT | | 2 points |
| Regular Cracked readers probably do better than average on this one. (And ace quizzes on dangerous Australian wildlife.) |
 | brez002: | Mar 7th, 2012 at 19:30 GMT | | 1 point |
| @statephone yea, I thought the same thing about those two. Though I did get Big right, but that is just because I was randomly guessing big trouble in little china. |
 | biskit67: | Mar 7th, 2012 at 20:14 GMT | | 2 points |
| I thought Ghostbusters was Yellow Submarine. I got Star Wars right, but how misleading is that poster? Although a dude with 7 light sabers sticking out of his head would be pretty bad ass. |
 | lekkermeisje: | Mar 8th, 2012 at 14:44 GMT | | 2 points |
| I got several of these by knowing Czech (that's how I knew Big and Easy Rider). It's not a far step from Czech to Polish.
I understood duchu for ghosts but couldn't see the other word so I didn't get Ghostbusters. |
 | James_Murton: | Mar 8th, 2012 at 14:56 GMT | | 3 points |
| @carbon_rod: The 'Confessions of...' films were basically an even more risque version of the Carry On series. Actualy nudity as opposed to innuendo and such. They haven't held up well. |
 | ArturU: | Mar 13th, 2012 at 10:16 GMT | | -2 points |
| Yup, 11/15 is easy with the answers on the posters: "... spotkania trzeciego stopnia", "Obcy", "Velky", pretty obvious what means. |
 | desh79: | Jun 21st, 2012 at 12:01 GMT | | 2 points |
| I feel sorry for Japanese cinema-goers who went into An American Werewolf in London, thinking it was some sort of zany fratboy comedy. |

| Wow, don't think that I ever have done so badly on a Sporcle quiz. |
 | Jonny_Segment: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 16:11 GMT | | 7 points |
| I love the Czech ones, particularly Ghostbusters. The Polish ones are kinda scary. |
 | TrueNorth: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 16:19 GMT | | 91 points |
| One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was especially confusing, considering there's a scene from The Shining on it. |
 | wheelz86: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 16:21 GMT | | 8 points |
| @truenorth - I was thinking the same thing but they added bars to the picture. |
 | 12bball: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 16:24 GMT | | 3 points |
| Interesting that 1/3 of these are from Poland. They have some strange ideas about some of our movies. |

| Did anyone else guess Big Trouble in Little China? |
 | jodyjm13: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 17:22 GMT | | 36 points |
| Does anyone else think that poster for Deliverance is actually really, really good? |
 | Marsupial_Ninja: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 17:27 GMT | | 2 points |
| Great quiz. I got Ghostbusters by guessing the one for Spaceballs! Some quite bizarre posters there. Good job. |
 | Keit: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 17:30 GMT | | 35 points |
| I don't remember the part in Big where Tom Hanks's head explodes. |
 | supe95: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 17:54 GMT | | 7 points |
| I kept trying The Shining for the Nicholson one. These are quite bizarre haha! |
 | ImpromptuJ: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 17:56 GMT | | 7 points |
| The Ghanaian "Cujo" looks more smug than anything else. |
 | LovelyStar1988: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 18:06 GMT | | 5 points |
| Seriously thought that the Big poster was for Eraserhead. |
 | ktappe: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 18:18 GMT | | 33 points |
| Today I learned movie poster makers in other countries are on drugs. |
 | ad808: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 18:35 GMT | | 4 points |
| @Marsupial_Ninja: So did I. And then I spent the next few seconds trying to figure out how it could possibly be a poster for Ghostbusters. The poster for The Muppet Movie gives the impression that Muppets are flesh eating monsters that are terrorizing the world. |
 | burning_down: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 18:45 GMT | | 1 point |
| @TrueNorth: Yeah, I kept trying The Shining for the Nicholson one. |
 | Propellerhead: | Jul 29th, 2012 at 18:50 GMT | | 10 points |
| Cujo was a cocker spaniel? It looks about as threatening as my Aunt Brenda's lapdog. |
