Good idea, I bet you can also include some more distant movies. Some of the countries are too easy to define by the backgrounds (like 28 days later).

A couple of easy ones don't hurt, IMHO. On the other hand, I wonder if these should be forced-order, so that people don't just type in every country they can think of in six minutes.

Love the quiz and idea. Although some don't like forced answer I have to kinda agree with Tahnan here though. Someone could do quite well without having to ever look at a picture.

Cutting the time a little might be preferable to making it forced order. Unless the pictures will show up beside the answer box (don't know if dru can do that or if it has to be done by an admin after publishing).

I'll try cutting off a minute. I don't mind a few blind stabs, and I really think forced order might make it too hard. I know a lot of people on this site can type all 150-whatever countries out in just a few minutes, but not
everyone
can do that. And if your enjoyment of this quiz comes from sitting there and typing every country you know without even looking at the pictures, you're probably playing the wrong quiz but I say go for it.

What the world needs is a good romantic comedy set in Kyrgyzstan. Come on, Spielberg!

Forced order isn't necessary. As druhutch said, you're probably playing the wrong quiz. I got all but the only one I didn't know (i.e. - recognise) was "Romeo And Juliet" so after getting the 19, I did some random guessing and hit upon the right one.

I liked the quiz but part of the fun is seeing how you measure up against others on a particular trivia topic. Unless it is forced answer, you can't really do that.

Eh, why not--I'll cave. I'll add a couple more minutes to the timer and make it forced order. Might as well try it out and if it doesn't work I can always change it back.

Not only a great quiz, but thank you for putting the picture up by the answer space to avoid the usual scrolling up and down problems. Not a knock: But I was surprised more places like Egpyt and in SE Asia didn't show up. I would endorse wholly a sequel to this great quiz.

@BombaySquire: "Spies Like Us" is set, in part, somewhere in the Stans, not sure it is was Kyrgyzstan (Dan Aykroyd mentions the "Top of the World" when they cross from Pakistan/Afghanistan into the old Soviet Union), although eventually I think they end up in Tajikistan.

Really well-made quiz. Good movie selections, and forced order was probably a great decision.

In Predator the team gets dropped of in Guatemala and they make their way to the fictional country of Val Verde, where the final fight also takes place.

@Gottkaiser: Right. Damn. My original source for that one was totally off. I'll probably just replace the movie altogether, but in the mean time the quiz will also accept "Val Verde" as an alternate answer.

I don't normally like making it so you have to answer in order, but in this case I think it would make more sense that way. Good quiz regardless though.

@woodchucker I personally do not watch many movies but I have good knowledge of geography and was able guess my way into the 80 percentile. I think your right and it should be forced in order even if how much I like being able to guess on quizs.

I missed two that I'd never seen and couldn't guess from the picture. I got Belgium, because it looked European. Knew a few by general locale and just guessed countries in the area. And then there were the ones that I just KNEW. "Kid, next time I say, 'Let's go someplace like Bolivia, let's GO someplace like Bolivia!" :)

Perhaps instead of voting me down, people could point out the error in my logic. My point is that the island of Cuba and the country of Cuba are two separate things.

@shibbyhibby I've seen this issue pop up on other quizes Guantanamo Bay isn't technically an American Territory. Its an area loaned out by the Cuban government or something......All I know is that none of the Border quizzes on Sporcle count Cuba as having a border, unlike Cyprus which has 2 UK basses on it but they are considered UK territory.
