	schnaps has two p's. not many people use lederhosen, schadenfreude, automat, zeitgeist, or angst. theyve probly been used but commonly used is a bold statement for some of these.

	You can of course accept both answers, but if you are asking for the German word you should show the German spelling, with only one p. Same goes for "kaputt" - also only one p. And the nouns are written with capital first letter.

	Yes, but it's words "of German ORIGIN", meaning we've adapted the spelling in English. Also, I do use 'zeitgeist' and 'angst' often enough, and 'schadenfreude' is in my usable lexicon as well. One glaring omission: 'fahrvergnügen!' LOL, JK! Fun quiz...I only missed "automat" :(

	^ Maybe, but the column states "German word"... And no wonder you missed the word "Automat" since it is of Greek origin!

	Great idea, although I find the quiz a little confusing as I haven't heard a lot of these german words used in english. But maybe that's just where I live.

	What's your source for saying that "automat" is a German word? I'm pretty sure it's derived from the Greek word automatos, meaning selfthinking. Also, you could add "weltschmerz". Isn't that at least somewhat used in English?

	a Poltergeist is literally a "Blustery" ghost, or a ghost who causes disruption. A ghost is "geist". I suggest you rename the clue to "angry ghost" or "disruptive ghost". I kept typing in "geist" and had no idea what you were looking for.
