Onno is completely right. Otherwise, awesome quiz, I'd nominate it if you fix those 2 things.

fun quiz--harder than I expected. I kept going over countries whose names began with the right letters and somehow missing them: Okay, Poland - no; Latvia - no; Lithuania - no... (Minor point: there's an inconsistency in the "Saints" islands, such that the quiz only accepts St Lucia but will accept Saint Kitts or St Kitts...)

Timor-Leste is just East Timor in their language the same way that Ivory Coast and Cote D'Ivore is the same but in a different language...

@marisbest That would make no sense at all. This is a word-based quiz, and 'Ivory Coast' would be an invalid answer, since 'I' does not appear in the word 'Sporcle'. Also, 'Ivory Coast' is not the name of the country.

I hate quizzes like this. I spend the last minute or so not thinking of the countries I'm still missing, but wondering which ridiculously well known country I am missing.

I lot of fun, but I'm still working a bit on my visual memory of the world map. I'm looking at you, Cyprus, you sneaky island that always seems to hide when I'm moving from Europe into Asia.

Ivory Coast should be an acceptable answer since it is accepted on the "'C' Countries" quiz. If I can type Ivory Coast there and it corrects to Cote d'Ivoire, why not the same here? Consistency should be used throughout these quizzes.

Great quiz. As far as the Ivory Coast/Cote d"Ivoire, its up to each country to determine their own name. I could imagine the outcry if our fellow Sporclers from around the globe tried to change the name of our country.

I understand that Timor Leste is the official name, but it would be cool to have East Timor as a bonus-- it's not an official answer because it doesn't officially start with E, but also acknowledging that it is often spelled as such.

coolg--If you are in Spain, they won't tell you the name of the country is "United States," but "Estados Unidos." Every country determines what its own name is, but every country also determines what it will call other countries. Sporcle does this often--Espana is Spain on Sporcle, for example.

Yes, I love sporcle. It makes me feel I'm not the only person in the world ineterested in geography. If I told any of my friends that I got all but one in a quiz like this, they would probably laugh at me for a while. I'm glad there are more people who just enjoy this. Thank you Sporcle! (And damn you Samoa!!)
