Gimboid - first, sorry for the confusion, I've changed it now but the text was intended to mean that the category was Northern Ireland and the quiz was asking for each flag's name
- The "Flag of Northern Ireland" is accepted for the Ulster Banner, but not displayed because it is no longer the official flag of Northern Ireland, instead the government of Northern Ireland now uses the Union Flag for official occasions
- St Patrick's Cross represents Northern Ireland (& formerly all of Ireland) on the Union Flag & is used to represent the island of Ireland (including N Ireland) by many institutions including the Catholic Church & Church of Ireland
- Like I said above, the Tri-Colour was designed not just to represent the republic of Ireland, but all of Ireland with the Orange specifically referring to the North
I added St George's Cross and the Flag of Saint David, but left official flags off of this quiz (Scotland's government officially uses St Andrew's cross) |
