	Only official flags are included and Northern Ireland has not had an official flag since 1973 when the Parliament of Northern Ireland was dissolved Although the Ulster Banner was the official flag from 1953 to 1973 and continues to be flown by many people and is used to represent Northern Ireland for sport, it has not regained official status and the government of Northern Ireland only uses the Union Flag http://www.britishcouncil.org/ge-home-aboutus-ukdiversity-northern-ireland-2.htm

	I limited this quiz to countries, territories, & dependencies; so other channel islands - Sark, Herm, Alderney, etc - fall under the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and the Isle of Wight isn't included since it's part of England, perhaps I should create a quiz with all the other flags used in the UK http://www.gov.gg/ccm/navigation/about-guernsey/about-the-bailiwick-of-guernsey/

	Northern Ireland does use the Ulster Banner for football and other sport, but it is not the official flag anymore and is not used by the government

	I removed England's flag, don't be rude, the Ulster Banner (it lost the name Flag of Northern Ireland when it ceased being the official flag of Northern Ireland in 1972) is unofficial & does not fit with the theme of this quiz, it's not insulting not to include it if Northern Ireland's government doesn't even use it

	the Welsh, Scottish and Manx flags really stand out here as the best ones, for me. But then i like those places the best so maybe I'm biased

	Why is there no St. Georges flag? I don't understand why the Union Jack is included in this quiz. The United Kingdom itself isn't a country or claimed territory of the United Kingdom and yet at the same time you've neglected to include England, the most substantial arm of the UK, from the quiz altogether.

	RazFoz - I haven't neglected it, England does not have an official flag because it has no devolved government, according to the BBC, "Markers of specific English identity, such as the flag of St George, tend to be unofficial." ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/country_profiles/7327029.stm ) The Union Flag is used as an official flag by the UK national government, Northern Ireland Government, and for the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia which do not have their own unique flag like other overseas territories. While all of these answers are accepted for the Union Flag, the United Kingdom shows up because it is the largest of these entities.

	adrian96 - These are all flags recognised by the UK government and its parts, not flags used by football teams or flags used by the church or flags commonly associated with different entities. The flag of St George and the Ulster Banner are not used by or recognised by the governments of the UK and its constituent countries. A flag that the BBC specifically names as an unofficial symbol (the flag of St George) does not have the same status as a flag actually used by a government. It's more petty to be incorrect for the sake of appeasing a few than to adhere to the guideline set by these governments, if you think it's an issue then petition the government of Northern Ireland to re-adopt a flag and ask the UK Parliament to create an English government so it can have a flag, too.

	matt01 - The flags included are used in an official capacity by these respective governments. Scotland and Wales both have devolved governments that use the flags shown in this quiz, England does not yet have a devolved government (see West Lothian question) so there is no government entity to declare an official flag and, as BBC Country Profiles says, "Markers of specific English identity, such as the flag of St George, tend to be unofficial." The other constituent country missing, Northern Ireland, previously had an official flag, but has not had one since the 1970's and today the Northern Ireland government uses the Union Flag for all applicable official functions. Flags are used by various non-governmental bodies in these places (like football associations and the church) but not by the governments, which is the standard used for inclusion on this quiz.

	diving, in a time where it is only too easy to get angry over the internet, I am impressed by your patience in answering pretty much the exact same question three or four times. And good for you for laying down a rule for your own quiz and sticking to it, however "petty" that may make you sound! On a quiz with only a handful of comments, it really isn't that hard to read through some of them before rehashing the same issue. Very informative quiz! (and by the way... where's the Ulster Flag?!) :P
