	What constitutes an urban area in the south wales valleys could be open to interpretation, as there often aren't really any gaps between towns - you could just about travel from Barry to Merthyr without hitting any countryside

	Random fact: The same city can be called Londonderry, or simply, Derry. If you call the city Londonderry it, most likely, means you come from Northern Ireland (UK) and/or are a Protestant or, at least, have British ties. If you call the city Derry it, most likely, means you come from (the Republic of) Ireland and/or are a Catholic or, at least, have (Southern) Irish ties.

	Dang, I got all the Scottish ones except Falkirk (after just recommending the Falkirk Wheel to some US vacationers), & blanked out on most of Wales. I did try Ystradgynlais in honor of Torchwood's Eve Myles hometown but-- no surprise-- it wasn't in the top 5.

	@quizmasterchris Oh dear. We're not misusing words. Constituent apples or constituent cities just wouldn't make sense. Constituent countries does make sense & that sense is reinforced when you read the headers saying England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I don't care that the government of the UK doesn't use the phrase "constituent countries" because I understand the English language from my experience of listening, speaking, reading and writing - not by statute or legislation, or from a French-style academy. I am also able to intuit the meanings of new words or phrases from their context - something perhaps you should try. The context is clear in this quiz, so just enjoy it, you miserable pedant.

	@quizmasterchris, Having a wee bit of a snit are we? As you asked, the UK comprises four countries, which form a unitary state. It is acceptable to refer to the state as a country. You should correct your errors before calling us "deusional." 1) Every level of government uses the term "countries of the UK." 2) They were not "un-countried" (to use your barbarism), but joined in a political union and now have limited sovereignty. 3) The relationships between the countries of the UK are complicated and will not be resolved on Sporcle. Perhaps the "chip" you detect is merely the citizens of the various countries of the UK irritated by the hectoring of what your fellow Sporclers perceive as a miserable pedantic knob with twisted knickers. As I tell my children, when you respond in kind, you lose the high ground. @phildavies set the bar, and you were content to leave it there, whereas you could have raised it. My response simply indicated amusement at your use of a phrase rarely heard outside of primary school.

	@quizmasterchris,The autonomy of the constituent countries is another topic entirely. We were discussing the composition of the UK, for which autonomy is irrelevant. I suggest having a squiz round the references provided for this quiz. You obviously need to start here with this governmental department: The Beginner's Guide to UK Geography: Countries of the UK: This hierarchy is complicated for not only are there several layers but the structure is different in each constituent country of the UK. http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/guide-method/geography/beginner-s-guide/administrative/index.html The website of Parliament, a level of government, is another fine resource for use of the term "countries of the UK". Stand yourself corrected.

	Bollocks. The only correct detail in that load of twaddle was that Britain is indeed State which can be referred to as a "country". The four countries comprise it. No comment about the links I provided? Of course not, as they prove you laughably wrong on all counts. Obviously the Beginner's Guide was too advanced. I recommend you peruse a five-year-old's geography primer with plenty of pictures. You could always Google the term "constituent country" but apparently you are too busy contemplating on the axe grinding in my trousers. Examine the links, THEN reply, lest you continue to be perceived as an uneducated numpty.

	This quizmasterchris person is clearly mind-numbingly stupid. The UK is a sovereign state made up of four, YES FOUR, countries. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Whether you like it or not, that's the fact. You've made it plain you're not from here so retain your last speck of dignity and stop trying to teach people about their native country. Especially since you're wrong. Look it up - buy a children's atlas or something.
