Responding to some questions/observations, though I should point out that I can't change the quiz any longer:

- The data is ordered as a statistical set, statistical sets are usually ranked in order from smallest to largest. The data & the term 'rank' in this quiz correspond to this mathematical meaning.

- It seems that the note I included was lost sometime during publishing that says data includes areas under de facto control of the parent country, for example Morocco, in practice, controls the vast majority of Western Sahara although its legal right is controversial, that data is included in its numbers. Similarly Israel controls large areas of Palestine, most significantly through settlements in the West Bank, these areas are included in Israel's numbers leading to a discrepancy between Israel-proper & the area really governed by Israel.
