Presumably they don't bother to warn you about places you aren't allowed to go, like Cuba. And I think Rwanda is improved, but it's neighbor Burundi is having similar violence between the Hutus and Tutsis, except reverse. But I could be wrong.

Also, I'm not sure that Myanmar (Burma) is specifically dangerous, you just have to recognize the fact that your tourist dollars will be going to a totalitarian regime.

Same with North Korea. If you do get in (which is close to impossible for someone from the usa) you wont be in danger as long as you stick with your "guides" and watch your tongue.

I had no idea the Philippines was a particularly dangerous place. Then again, I'm possibly quite ignorant. Also, Uzbekistan was the onle one of the 'stans I didn't try...

Parts of the Philippines are dangerous (particularly if you're not Muslim); other parts aren't.

The southern Philippines are dangerous because they have insurgencies. But the areas near Luzon are perfectly fine. And Rwanda is over ten years past the genocide people. As for dictatorships like Burma and NK, they'll treat you quite well as long as you stick to the program. In fact you're probably safer from crime visiting them then some places like Brazil. Citizens know what would happened if they attacked a guest of the government.

Great subject for a quiz, but in 1,5 years these have changed quite a bit and now the list is considerably longer.
