I would agree. Give us one minute longer, but don't put them in alphabetical order.

Good idea for a game, but nowhere near enough time.

I wonder why Atlanta is the most common answer missed. (And I say that as someone who got that answer last.) It's a major, well-known city, by far the biggest in the state. A lot more people know of Atlanta than Annapolis or Augusta.

Agree, two minutes would be helpful.

dont give another minute. speaking even as someone who missed one (oklahoma city), it makes the game more fun and intense with only one. just my opinion.

Interesting how, with only one exception, they all start with either A or O.

I got Augusta, Maine with five seconds to go. Pathetic since I lived in Maine for nine years.

Given the fact that almost 1 in 5 are getting 100%, perhaps cutting the time to one minute needs to be considered. Just a thought.

Geez, I always thought it was Bangor, Maine. Musta spent too much dime doing risque vaudeville. Omaha was a swing-and-a-miss for me, as was the time-consuming to type city in NM. hmph. Too US-centric!

Time is irrelevant when there are this few clues. You can always just think of all the answers then hit start and type them in.

I stared at the screen...KNOWING the capital of Washington began with a vowel...still couldn't come up with it. So stupid!

@Jerdoggiedog: Problem with that is, it takes the fun out of it. It's the same problem with cheating at board games. Where's the fun in that? You might as well play against stuffed animals. For Sporcle, coming up with the answers before you start the timer takes the challenge out of it, and the challenge is what attracts people in the first place. Of course, too short a time limit can be frustrating instead of fun.

Pretty sure that "Austin, Massachusetts" reference from the post with -8 points was a reference to a part of the movie Road Trip. Really obscure though, not surprised with people marking it down.

I really like this quiz because first you need to think of what the state capital and then it takes you another second or two to process whether or not the first letter is vowel.

For the most part, I got the capitals in the order of least gotten right to most gotten right. Funny how you're mind works sometimes.
