You need to accept Kansas City. I also tried variations of including the state to no avail. You don't require the state for Portland, Wilmington, Columbus, etc.

Overland Park should appear when you enter Kansas City. It's an adjacent suburb.

@sharp: fixed - forgot to adjust that city when fixing Kansas City issue above.

I really enjoyed this quiz. The only (minor) comment I would make is to include Arlington, VA. It is technically a county but also its own city.

@Mccourtney: realize the situation with Arlington but as the census categorizes it as a county left it off.

Amherst should not be on here...it isn't recognized as an incorporated municipality or city along the same lines as others that the Census Bureau defines. If Amherest were to be included, one would have to include places like Metairie, LA; East Los Angeles, CA; and others.

Fantastic quiz. Oklahoma City, OK and Tulsa, OK are 97.3 miles away in distance, so they should appear together. Hartford, CT and Boston, MA are 93.1 miles away in distance, so they should appear together.

Love this quiz. As always I'm a slow poke and would want one more minute. But I'm sure it's good how it is.

boston and hartford do both appear. tulsa and ok city may have a few miles discrepancy and are over 100 for me because i am using the geonames city center coordinates, not necessarily the same coordinates as a website may be using. yeah amherst is an ny town which i dont include anymore n my quizzes, this one is a bit older when i did.

Nice quiz. I would add a minute, though. I'm not generally super slow, but I played twice and didn't get through all the states. All in all, though, nice job.

fyi i removed Amherst, NY to be consistent with how I count US cities currently - NY towns are not incorporated like towns in other states are.

I didn't realize Cedar Rapids or Columbia, MO were over 100,000. Good work as always.

Columbia, Mo., has around 110,000 people, plus a ton of people living outside the city limits. If they annex some land, Columbia could jump even more since its metro has more than 175,000.

Surprised at the lack of San Juan here...I guess a city in a U.S. territory isn't considered part of the U.S.?

San Juan, PR should definitely be on the list. It's part of the United States, even if other Sporcle quizzes ignore it.

after a publish i cannot edit the time or anything, it's up to the admins. personally i kinda like the 5 min, a good amount of people are getting close to all 247 and it keeps the replay value up for those who get close.

@thehungjury: Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States. The standard for Sporcle geography quizzes is that territories are not considered unless stated otherwise.

@Shortney87: I think it's a safe assumption that fewer than 95% read the instruction.

Finally a city quiz where I got Charlotte, which I always tend to forget. Admittedly, I never typed it and never would have, but since there are other cities around it...

@triviafanpatriot: the omission of San Juan appears to be an unwritten rule, at best. It's not in the instructions to the quiz, and I don't see it anywhere else on the website, either. If we're not going to count it -- and I don't care one way or the other, I just seek clarity -- shouldn't it be *somewhere* on the quiz description, or the category description, or even the website?
