  • NOTES: Cities must be in North America GEOGRAPHICALLY - NOT POLITICALLY. Type LOWER CASE and DO NOT use punctuation. Scores are based on PERCENTAGE OF TOTAL POPULATION OF THE 5,000 CITIES REACHED (shown just below the map to the right). You only start with 10 minutes but there are MANY TIME BONUSES (see below) which can increase your time substantially. TIP: Try for categories first to get some extra time rather than small cities or focusing too much on one country. Markers are initially placed so that largest cities are ON TOP of smaller ones. City's marker will disappear when it is guessed. Zooming is not possible as the map is in Hybrid mode - yes I know a handful of city names are visible. The bottom left grid shows the top cities gotten by country, up to 50. If a number N appears here you have the first N largest cities in that country. For example, if you have the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th largest cities, you will not see anything, but if you get the largest a "4" will appear showing you have the 4 largest in that country. Codes are given for the largest as well as top 3, 5, 10, 25 and 50 largest cities in a certain # of countries. TIME BONUSES are given for cities of a certain size (coded by color), countries completed, cities in certain pop ranges, total % of population of all cities, largest cities, regions, cities in the US, Mexico and Canada, cities in the Caribbean and Central America, as well as total cities completed. Caribbean is any city in the Caribbean sea - Central America does NOT include Mexico. If scores do not load when quiz starts try reloading, small chance score server could be down. Scores not loading could affect your ability to save your own.
