- NOTES - The goal of this quiz is TOTAL CERTS not total artists (although time bonuses are awarded for artists - see below). You can type 'alldone' at any time if you have time left and want to submit your score. Clicking on the "Artist Ranks" listbox will display the certs by artist in the table, and answers will fill in. RIAA certifications basically count Gold or Platinum albums...a Gold counts as 0.5, Platinum as 1.0, and multiplatinum as anything from 2.0 up (whole numbers only). This tracks US record sales only - not international. Last names are generally required. Entering an artist will occasionally fill in another answer if they collaborated with another artist (although they typically weren't a duo) on another certified Gold or Platinum album. Artists are sorted by certs then alphabetically by first name for each cert total. I also allow some abbreviations. You start with 15:00 but receive TIME BONUSES for getting various numbers of artists in the 50+, 40-49, 30-39, 20-29 and 10-19 total certs categories, as well as total artists. If SCORES DO NOT LOAD when quiz starts, try again in a few seconds...a small chance the server with the scores file is down too. If scores don't appear it may affect your ability to save your own at the end of the quiz.
