let me know what you think about the 4 min time limit, I feel it gives you some time but does make you rush near the end, which is what a blitz quiz should do.

I think you can give a minute more. But maybe I just think too much while doing these quizzes... by the way, why didn't you choose 100,000 as the cut-off?

@Onno: 100,000 brings in a ton of CA cities and due to the data field size maximums I would've had to just call all the LA-area ones "LA Metro" or something. May do that for a quiz coming up so I can have 100K be the population minimum, but did this quiz first. Was close between 4 and 5 min, I tried both and found 4 seemed where I wanted the challenge difficulty to be, but will go to 5 if enough want that.

5 gives you a better chance to recite what you know and rush at the very end, but 4 makes you rush when you still have some rote cities to recite, if you methodically make your way around the country

and one question darinh: how did you contribute so many quizzes this on your main account?

Good quiz, but agree that one more minute would allow you to think before you start rushing.

This quiz is cool but I'd prefer it without a time crunch.

Kaleb: then it just becomes listing all the 150+ pop cities, and there are plenty of those types already on sporcle.

Would it be a good idea to include Arlington, VA? I know it's not technically a city but the Census and a lot of other Sporcle quizzes treat it as such.

@MisterF: I think a lot of Sporcle largest cities quizzes don't include it as well...going to leave it out.

California is the Russia of USA, both of them have millions of cities with a population around 100 000.

I grew up in Long Beach. Dodger Stadium was 21 miles from me. Anaheim Stadium was 24. Texas also has lots of little towns I would never have thought had any populations.

How is it that - even if only by 0.3% - more people enter Philadelphia than New York?

Greenville, SC has over 630,000 people in it, according to Forbes, Wikipedia, and Yahoo. It is not on this list, nor any list with a lot of people. I feel like Sporcle needs to fix this.

philly at the top doesn't mean it's the most guessed - just means that it fills in the most - i.e. people from people filling in NYC, baltimore, etc.
