| @Fish1987: Kinshasa and Brazzaville are on the banks of the Congo River, exactly one opposite the other; if you measure the distance not between the city centres but from coast to coast, it's less than one mile. As for Buenos Aires and Montevideo, not long ago I read here a similar comment; probably some people think that they are exactly opposite across the Río de la Plata, and therefore they should be close one from another. Actually there is an Uruguayan city (Colonia) opposite Buenos Aires, at only 31 miles; but Montevideo is farther downstream, at 125 miles from the Argentine capital. |
