| I think we should call it Farsi. The English language changes and adapts as time goes on. The word in common use now is Farsi, not Persian. I see no reason to revert back to a form that is considered outdated, especially since it is based on a mispronunciation of the original word in the first place. Should we go back to using Peking or Peiping, Bombay, Rangoon simply because our ancestors did not clearly hear the way the name should be pronounced? |
