Then the extreme points of France would be: border with Germany - tripoint with Suriname and Brazil. Length of France between these points: 7,862 km (4,885 miles). Close to a tie with Russia! That's ridiculous. You aren't measuring the length of France, you are measuring a little from Metropolitan France, a little from French Guiana and an enormous portion of Atlantic Ocean. The same happens if you include Hawaii for the US, the Canary Islands for Spain, Açores and Madeira for Portugal, etc. |
