Wow I didn't know different countries had different days of obligation. Good thing I had to memorize these in grade school. Interesting the USA has the most....

Ascension is no longer a holy day of obligation in the U.S.

Waterjoe: It still is, but in certain dioceses it has been transferred to Sunday. It is up to the discretion of the local Bishop whether or not to move it. For example in DC it is moved to Sunday, but in New York it is not.

I thought they had all changed to Sunday by now, but it looks like Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, and Omaha still have it on Thursday.
