First, this quiz assumes you know the 20 most populated nations in order. That's not common knowledge, not even on Sporcle. Then you have countries such as India and Mexico with... well, more than one official language, yet only Hindi and Spanish is accepted. Please fix, or, you know, delete the whole quiz.

Um, @1447 and @FishyInSpain: yes, we're not told the country - surely that's part of the quiz? You can practice them at http://www.sporcle.com/games/populousnations.php if you'd like :-) But @dan12: it would be good either to accept multiple answers for some countries, or to say explicitly in the notes what criterion you're using — most widely spoken language in the country, or something?

I like the subject matter of this quiz, but I'm not crazy about the format where the questions are hidden. I really prefer having the option of skipping a question. I mean, I knew Pakistan was the 5th most populous country, but I had no idea what the primary language is, so I got stuck there and couldn't do anything. I think this format (which is widely used here, not just on this quiz) just encourages cheating, because there's no way to see what the rest of the quiz is if you just don't know one answer. I don't like the inability to skip questions.

I'm not sure why people are upset with this quiz... there are so many quizzes out there already asking about ranking languages and countries by population that there is a niche for specialty quizzes like this one. I enjoyed it.

Gave it a pretty good rating but knocked it down one spot after seeing the creator's response to some of the criticism....

i agree with bannanie, its annoying enough to have to answer them in order its obnoxious to not be able to at least skip one.

How come when I type "English", I get "Hindi". Not sure, because English is the right answer on the next question.

You said you "fixed" the fact the US has no official language but you haven't yet. Trying to make a political statement here?

Turkey is mostly located in Asia - including its capital city, and yet the quiz only suggests that it is in Europe. I found this a bit confusing.

The instructions for the game are wrong. We're instructed to enter a country in the box below, when in fact you want us to enter the language of the mystery country. I would fix your instructions so that they are correct with what you want entered.
