for Misr: El-Qahira could also be an alternate spelling? Al-Qahira, El Qahirah, Al Qahira etc.

Al Qahira should be accepted. I had several Arabic courses. Al qahira would be alif noon qaf ha ya ra taa marbuta which in transliteration is usually rendered al qahira.

Maybe accept the Cyrillic, Arabic etc. ones in their original alphabets (Москва, etc.), so that people who know those don't have to also figure out the transliteration?

thanks for the feedback, made some changes as suggested for al qahira and added a few alphabets (not Thai though). And a bonus for those challenged by the Maori language.

The official language of Bern is German, not French, which is indeed with the final e. You're not technically wrong though, but you should also accept the Romansch "Berna", because technically that's an official swiss language too!
