| Carew seems to fall into the same category as Banks. Due to a few hundred at-bats as DH and PH, just 49.9% of Carew's career PA came at first base. So like Banks, he wouldn't qualify for any position using this criteria. Harmon Killebrew and Pete Rose would both fall well short of 50%, with Killebrew splitting the majority of his time between 3 positions, and Rose between 5. I'm sure there are other players who would fall just short of 50% like Banks and Killebrew, from spending time at more than 2 positions, especially in the last 30+ years when many spend time as DH later in their careers. |
