Nice idea, but you should have specified counter-clockwise, instead of SW. I was trying to go down the Atlantic coast...

Not entirely accurate, if you follow the coast/borders all around, you'll go ...South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware...

Also neglects Alaska and Hawaii, though I guess it would be hard to figure out where to fit them in.

Chadrue is absolutely correct. No matter which direction (clockwise or counter) you're heading southwest from Maine. Also, you ignore Chesapeake Bay and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Great game, once I worked out direction way I was meant to go. Why not change it to say "west"? Strictly speaking the comments above are correct, but it was easy to see what you were doing, i.e going across the bridges.

bsd987 is half right, but once you go from north carolina to virginia, you do not go back into north carolina

If you're going across bridges, then Indiana and Illinois should probably not be on here, because you can go directly through Ohio > Michigan > Wisconsin > Minnesota. If that's the way you're going, the Chesapeake area is already correct.

patteroast is correct. indiana and illinois are not the outer most. you can go through the upper penninsula and go straight to wisconsin
