I doubt too many people know that there are more book lice and barkflies than mammals or more caddisflies than birds.

Very nice! My first thought was J.B.S. Haldane’s line that “…the creator, if he exists, has an inordinate fondness for beetles.” (Or something like that; apparently the exact quote is disputed.) “Mantid(s)” and “Termite(s)” don’t currently work for Dictyoptera, incidentally.
