| @Zap & @koi: Moviegoer is correct. Not only must the film be primarily in a foreign language, it must also at least until recently, be in an official language of the country submitting the film. So for example, a film from Sweden with Dutch dialogue would not qualify, or more realistically, a Canadian film all in Mandarin would not qualify. The rules were recently relaxed, but I wonder if Dances With Horses could, under the new rules, qualify as a foreign language film in the States, since most of the dialogue was in Lakota. |
