Man, I loved my huge box of crayons as a kid! I separated them into the blues family, the red/pink family, the green family, etc...yes, I'm a dork. They've added a few since then, though. :)

I specifically remember having a dark yellow orange (because it had three words...) but either a) it's been discontinued or b) it was another brand.

Yeah, there was a marigold and indian red. And yea, I too am one of the dorks who sorted all the colours into families and loved to keep them all tidy. HEY! I wonder if there's a Laurentian pencil crayons quiz yet, or if I should request one?! :)

Here's the list of colors that crayola retired in 1990: Green Blue; Orange Red; Orange Yellow; Violet Blue; Maize; Lemon Yellow; Blue Gray; Raw Umber. Some of the new color have names that are just way too long!

Yeah I remember Marigold and Indian Red! Indian Red is actually Scarlet now though. I don't know what happened to Marigold. My favorites: Purple Mountains Majesty, Purple Heart, Tickle Me Pink, and Denim. :)

The last box of Crayolas I got was the BRAND NEW 96 pack... around 1994 or something. Razzmatazz and Robin Egg Blue had just come out. I have no idea what a lot of these newer ones are but I can't believe I missed Granny Smith Apple. Great quiz!

very fun, even if i didn't do so well. my one complaint is that when you hit give up and the remaining answers show up, the ones over a red or pink background should probably come up a different color. some of them were very difficult to read without highlighting

Why the heck is "seafoam" not a color on this thing? It is totally a CRAYOLA color. Otherwise, props to this game- it is one of my favies. I

This quiz was very difficult.I haven't been a kid for a long time...most of the crayons have totally different names now.No peony? No sea foam green?I wish there was a game base on the colors they had in the 70's.I wonder if I would have done better?

I agree with plixgirl. I had no idea they had all these crazy new names. I never thought about it, but I bet I haven't owned or even looked at a box of crayons in over 25 years. I had no idea Crayola had ever dropped some and added new ones. I think I did guess all the ones listed above as being retired in 1990 though. (How can a color be retired? Really?)

I'm 15 and I didn't recognize a lot of these, like Neon Carrot, Banana Mania, and Fuzzy Wuzzy Brown. But I remember seafoam green was definitely a color! This quiz is addicting. But when you're stuck, just think of food. A lot of these are food-related.

All of you who are thinking of seafoam green, are you sure you aren't just remembering Sea Green? I think that's still there.

Okay, so I'm only 31, but I used to have my box o' 64 with me religiously and I still don't recognize 60% of these. Talk about catering to kids with ADD! Okay, I understand why Indian Red had to go... but what about Bronze and Raw Umber? You're telling me it's better to use "Beaver" and "Razzmatazz?" Come on!

Fuzzy Wuzzy Brown? Macaroni and Cheese? Who comes up with this stuff?! I'm guessing Crayola's idea now is just to take the most ridiculous names they can think of and throw out all the good ones. Bronze and Raw Umber for the win. Go to hell, fuzzy wuzzy brown. No one likes your styles.
