	I always feel conflicted by Veni_Vidi_Vidic comments: While I ostensibly agree with the general point, the smugness is actually quite irritating and inappropriate for the forum of a trivia game website.

@Veni: Handguns are all but illegal in Canada. You must demonstrate extreme circumstances to get one. We can only have rifles or shotguns after being fully registered and after completing a firearms course.

	A little common sense would go a long way here. These numbers are estimates and don't seem to include unreported executions/executions carried out in secret. There are countries that are rumored to mass murder many thousands of people a year (North Korea) but there is no way to know because obviously they don't put it on the nightly news. The United States carries out an elaborate and careful legal process (often taking decades) before someone can be executed. The fact that the United States is the third largest country in the world in terms of population and yet only carried out 37 executions should tell you something.

	I always like how certain people will take one thing the US does that they don't like, and simply assume the entire country believes in that 100%. Yes, everyone of us has at least 10 guns and we shoot at each other regularly, just for fun! Of course, I live in a state where gun control is a major part of out legislation and where executions are illegal. But what would I know? I'm just a stupid American. In other news, I enjoyed the quiz! I got all of the obvious ones and a couple obscure ones that I basically just guessed on. Belarus? I thought maybe a former Soviet country might be an answer, but only because I ran out of other ideas.

	I considered Mongolia but it contradicted the lovely, peaceful image I have of Mongolia I have in my head so decided against it. Perhaps I should adjust my unbased stereotypes of countries ;)

	Veni, of all the things to knock the United States for, official execution of legally tried individuals of extreme crimes isn't all that high on the list. It's on there, but certainly not close to the top. If you're willing to join me for a moment of academic pessimism, we have the death sentence which can be interpreted as an act of revenge or retribution, combined with the state playing an active role in allowing or not allowing life; or we have a life sentence with an extremely low probability of "rehabilitation", if such a thing exists in the prison system... in addition to a considerable cost for society in the sustenance of those prison facilities. Justice is elusive in a lose-lose game.

	Nice Veni, nice. You not only generalize one entire nationality and call them all primitive and insult them, but the those of the other nations on that list either. All while walking about with some air of superiority and greatness, though you really just come as arrogant, stuck up, and a bit of a bigot. Particularly when you attack a nation of millions for legally trying criminals who are killers themselves and manage to put a whole 37 of them to death, out of millions. I'd say it's not just the number, which is still pretty low, but also the reason behind those that are on the list. It's not so black and white you know, and making such accusations as though it is only makes you look the part of a fool. Not to mention the number doesn't mean the populace all believes it was the right thing to do. Heck, that's just one single relevant factor.

	well, the most surprising besides st kitts and nevis was that there are only two single cases in Africa... one would think that with all the civil wars and unrests etc that the death penalty is used more often, on the other hand - in the chaos of a civil war region etc its probably much easier to just sent a death squad and not have a trial at all. also one probably can assume that the death penalty was carried out more often in North Korea then officially known

	snoreway, The UK and other European countries have elected female leaders. As for monkey noises it's not socially acceptable in most European countries though it does happen in Eastern Europe and a few incidents in Spain but by a small minority of idiots.
