	It is NOT called The Golden Compass, it is called Northern Lights. If you want to include a Philip Pullman novel from that series, put The Amber Spyglass!

	Don't agree with "The Name of the Rose" and "James and the Giant Peach"--they're referring to objects, not colours!

	Fun quiz. Sad to see no love for one of my favorite colors which could have been covered by The Picture of Dorian Gray. Don't think the instructions mention that it can't be objects - just a color in the title.

	I'm with Chris. I'm always a bit disappointed by this kind of quiz since it goes against logic. Ok, rose and peach are tints too, but in the specific titles they are objects.

	@Chris: I actually like the fact that some of the "color words" refer to objects rather than titles -- they technically meet the definition and it forces you to think in a slightly different way. But maybe I'm just geeky that way. :)

	@Chris and Lilybert: And the colour in the Philip Pullman title refers to resin from trees, not the colour. But the point is that the names of colours appear as words in the titles of the books. That's all that's claimed.

	great quiz, there should be a sequel though! you could almost do another colour one from Edgar Allan Poe ones alone!! (the gold bug, th black cat, the masque of the red death, how to write a black wood article, etc etc,lol) but ye if you were looking for more authors, there are plenty more i can think of too, lol.

	It is sort of frustrating that, for many authors, there are other titles from different years (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for instance, since "chocolate" is a color as well; and Rose Madder, as mentioned above). Interesting quiz nonetheless.

	So... why exactly does it not except Golden Compass? That's the legitimate name it was published under in North America. I'm fine with Amber Spyglass being the displayed title, but Golden Compass should be an acceptable answer.

	i agree that "The Name of the Rose" and "James and the Giant Peach" shouldn't be included. Those words can be colors, but they're not in this context. As someone else mentioned, C. S. Lewis's "The Silver Chair" would be a good addition, to replace those others.

	However, the Silver Chair itself was also made of silver. ;) But you are right, that would have been a better choice. Maybe "The Blue Girl" by Charles de Lint. Maybe even "The Colour of Magic" by Terry Pratchett.

	I agree that James and the Giant Peach and The Name of the Rose shouldn't be on the list. Otherwise hypothetically then you could include a stack of dodgy titles named after objects because there are literally hundreds of officially recognized 'colours' which most of us would not even know are considered 'colours'.

	@ Mechafox: It doesn't accept Golden Compass because that book, whichever you wish to call it, was not published in 2000, it was in 1995. @ Swellwrench: I'm guessing they went for the sequel as the original has 2 different names so saves an argument.
