| Hanoi is the seventh-largest Asian city beginning with H; thus, it does not belong as one of the *top 5* Asian cities, as requested in this quiz. Meanwhile, I'm not sure what to do about The Hague - if it counts under H, then why doesn't La Paz count under P, or Los Angeles under A? Regardless, I think I'll add it - thanks. Finally, regarding Honolulu, I have already addressed this. Only a classification system that (arbitrarily) requires continent borders to coincide with country borders would group Hawaii with the rest of the USA. I see no problem with drawing continental borders through the middle of a country, as is commonly done with Russia and Turkey. (No one would argue that Vladivostok, on the Pacific Ocean, is part of Europe just because it is "in Russia, aka Europe.") In terms of physical geography, Hawaii consists of *Polynesian* islands, which are clearly a part of Oceania. At a minimum, we need to agree that there are multiple ways to divide up the continents. All I have done is follow my source, which is as authoritative a source as any you will find on Sporcle, and used quite frequently by Sporcle contributors. |
