Great quiz, especially because of the extra info given. Couple of suggestions as to the descriptions though: I think #10 needs a a review in the second sentence (won needs to be inserted somewhere I think), # 12 could use 'of' and I don't know your opinions about the Lebanese state but I think it should read immortality and not immorality ;)

Firstly i'm glad people are enjoying the extra info! Secondly, thanks for taking the time to essentially give the info a proof read. I've made the amendments, and hopefully there aren't any more! Thanks.

The fact that Dominican Republic was guessed by only 54% of the players doesn't speak very well of Sporclers' eyesight. The words REPUBLICA DOMINICANA are visible on the emblem (I could read them but with eyeglasses, so *this* fact doesn't speak very well of my eyesight either).

Some quizzes like this have an inset of the numbered question image come up by the answer box but I dont know how they do it.

The only problem was that I kept getting distracted by reading the interesting "emblem info"--though the phrase "Kyrgyz yurt" more than made up for that.

The Albanian double headed Eagle was the family flag of Gjergj Kastrioti aka Skanderbeg (Skenderbeu).

Fantastic quiz - loved it - 5/5!

@chriskotx - I'm not sure how you do that type of quiz. There might be some complex html code that only Sporcle-created quizes use, but I don't know it. @Tahnan - Glad you enjoyed the info. I did originally make the quiz five minutes, but add a few extra so you could enjoy the information! @legend930 - I'll whack that in the info for the Albanian, thanks.

I really like the Kazakhstan one. An Eagle flying under the sun is it? I sucked at the Uganda one. I knew it was in that area, so I tried Rwanda and Burundi and then moved on. I'm quite the fool.

So 18 is NOT the Republic of Maserati?? ;)

Nice quiz. One note: the stars for Brazil represent 26 the states, and the one above slogan (order and progress) represents the capital.

Great quiz. Gonna add to my favorites!

LOL Kyrgyzstan going to use Sporcle logo.

The Iranian emblem also spells god's name, in fancy Arabic/Persian script.

Never realized Kyrgyzstan had a yellow Xerox logo on their flag.
Oct 29th, 2011 at 21:24 GMT
Funny - i had heard the opposite unconfirmed reports that Sporcle was considering replacing *its* logo with the one on the Kyrgyzstan flag. :)
Oct 29th, 2011 at 22:18 GMT
Great quiz, loved the Kyrgyzstan description. One note - you should add something about the significance of the 40 rays (something about 40 tribes, I don't really remember, it's definitely something).

Beautiful graphics. Appreciate the well-researched background info. suggestion: as each country is guessed, have its name printed under its logo, or have some other way of distinguishing guessed from not guessed.

I got number 24 via reading. Brilliant quiz, fantastic idea. 5 globes from me. This better be published!

@philbino: actually, the star that represents the Federal District is the smallest one, at the bottom of the circle. That star is almost invisible to the naked eye, but is located exactly over the south pole, being considered the South Polar Star. The star above the slogan represents the state of Para, the northernmost state in 1889, representing also the small area of Brasil above the equator

That's a lot of eagles.
Nov 4th, 2011 at 00:02 GMT
@Art Fever: well, it's a lot minus one; that on the Ecuadorian flag is actually a condor.

Informative and superbly done! The kind of quiz that addicted me to Sporcle in the first place.

the egypt symbol was too hard because you changed the colors so it was hard to tell. you should have kept the original colors on the sheild to make it easier.that is my only complaint, otherwise, great quiz!

Wow. I typed in "Maserati" for the trident. I'm a genius.....
Dec 9th, 2012 at 09:03 GMT
For shame!!! Only 40.4% of the people got Kyrgyzstan. I don't want to imagine a world where sproclers don't guess Kyrgyzstan especially in Geography quizes. Oh the misery :D

The emblems in black make this quiz confusing and inconsistent since most of them are in their original colours.
Comment below threshold:

NotThere: see the note on top. When all the emblems were their original color, the ones that have been changed now were very difficult to see. We considered making them all black but that made several of the others unrecognizable.

There should be a rule where Kyrgyzstan is at the very least a hidden answer for every quiz

The Brazilian flag supposedly represents a portion of the sky as seen from Rio de Janeiro in 1889, when Brazil became a republic. But looking at the sky you wouldn't have seen those stars even in 1889 (now surely you can't due to city lights). Actually the image is reversed, as if the sky was seen from the outside. Look at the Southern Cross at the center: the faint fifth star appears at the left, while in the Australian flag (and in the actual sky) it's at the right. Curious.
Dec 9th, 2012 at 17:18 GMT
For the emblems that have been changed to black, would it be possible to put them on a black background or something rather than changing the colour?
Dec 9th, 2012 at 18:22 GMT

Pub Quiz Facts: The mexican flag is the only countries flag to have pink in it.(see the tiny flowers below eagle), and the trident on the Barbados flag is actually a broken trident to symbolise the split from the uk as Britannia is holding a trident representing the ruling of the seas.
