The title doesn't make any sense. It sounds like you're only asking about players who have played since 1998.

I don´t know what to make of that "since 1998" part, but the list is just bullshait. Doug Harvey before Bourque, Coffey, Lafleur and Roy! Brodeur, Selänne, Sundin, Fedorov all missing, while Sakic is as low as 94th and Hasek 95th. Crappy list.

The list was made in 1998. The title makes it sound like post-1998, when it's really pre-.

@majesteetti - Harvey certainly belongs above Coffey and, in 1998, above Roy. Bourque probably not, but he's defitely an all-time great. As for Brodeur, he broke out in '94, Selanne '93, sundin might not belong on anyway, and Feodorov broke out around that time anyway. None had been around long enough to merit condiration.

Loads of pre-50's players here. I understand Shore and Harvey being so high, they did revolutionize the way d-men played. Lindros' career sure did plummet after 1998, without his injuries he could be in all-time top 50. THN needs to make a new top 100. If they already have, someone make a quiz about it ;)

Sakic and Yzerman are way too low. Even Marcel Dionne is too low for my comfort, even though he never won a Cup.

This is the list done up by The Hockey News back in 1997 or 98. Its obviously off. First guy I typed in was Modano and he wasnt on it so right there I knew. if it was made now it would be quite a bit different obviously. Even for back then though, Yzerman at #78 ???

The Hockey News came out with a new version of this list last year, and it's divided by position. That one has all the '90s greats ranked higher.
