	First attempt at a logic puzzle so if any formatting/ clues etc are awry please let me know. :) The puzzle is solvable without the need to guess, Knowledge of Premier League football is required to the extent of which teams are competing in the 2012/13 season, kit colours, nicknames and team locations in the UK. No in depth knowledge is required and no knowledge of team histories of past successes are required. Finally as a Portsmouth fan there is no bias on my part as to the teams final finishing positions (well maybe apart from 20th :D ) Happy to post a solution if anyone can reccomend a good simple way to do so.

	Nice quiz. Though one of the clues is wrong as only one of the teams in the bottom 8 play in black and white

	Ah Yes, splitting the two teams involved in that clue was a pain in the backside and I was sure the kit situation was correct (damn you navy blue!) Clue has since been changed. Thanks

	got bombed for WBA in 12th but had that as only spot they could be after the Midlands clue as it was the only spot left that wasn't top 8 (already had Stoke) or bottom 8 (Villa)

	Vowel teams have to be on an odd number... - so, number 9 - what "united team" starts with a vowel? Not Newcastle, not Manchester, and not West Ham....I'm not missing one.

	@hpc1989... Vowel teams must be odd, but odd teams do not necessarily have to be vowels. One point of clarification, I had to guess Chelsea at 10, but they could have also been at 12. Both are below Manchester United, maybe specify that Chelsea are exactly one spot below ManU.

@Bittyslayer and allypap81 - I just saw there were some missing / between the boom and the first team on the list of wrong answers. So instead of *boom* / QPR it was reading *boom* QPR. Fixed now. Was never supposed to suggest that QPR was the correct answer. Sorry bout that

	@philbino I do not believe Chelsea at 10 needs to be guessed. Once you've worked out the team in 15th place, Chelsea's position becomes clear.

	there is also the liverpool clue that locks out the bottom half of the table to one of the clubs beginning with S. In terms of team 15 yes it sets team 10 but it is tricky as you have to take into account 3 different clues and come up with the remaining club.

	Nice quiz, but I'm not keen on the clue given by 13th - it requires mathematical knowledge beyond what could reasonably be expected. Also the clue in 12th could do with being reworded slightly - I'd make it 'closer to the Saints than TO the Latics'

	I've identified the 20th, 19th, 18th, 11th, 8th, 7th, 3rd and 1st and I fail to see how you can work out any more without guessing. Would someone mind explaining what is the next step?

	@Outlandish Aston Villa are in the top half and begin with a vowel so they must be 5th or 9th. They can't be 9th because that's a united team.

	Great quiz- as someone who is mostly unfamiliar with the premier league (although somehow wound up at a match at Craven Cottage in 1993), I enjoyed trying to figure it out based upon looking at the standings, maps, etc. and my minimal knowledge of the league. But I was confused by the 13th place clue- when I solved 13, all that was left for me to solve was 2nd and 4th place. To me, the way the clue is written "x were the second closest London side to y in the final standings" does not help me figure out position between the two remaining teams- was this the clue I was supposed to use to figure out 2nd and 4th place?

	One hint says all London clubs are next to at least one other London club. However, Chelsea in 10th is not next to any club from London.

	To add to my above comment, Chelsea is next to three clubs the way the grid is currently set up: Manchester United, Aston Villa and Reading. I may be a Yank, but I'm quite sure none of those three clubs play in London.

	@ClintT13: I'm assuming by 'next to' it means in the standings, i.e. QPR in 11th are next to Chelsea in 10th. That could be made clearer, given.

	Sorry for late replies to some: @Outlandish If you have got that far you should have the 15th placed team already :) It's a process of elimination. Eddie, the thinking behind that clue is that when you place team y in one position, team x would be the second closest London side position wise but if you place it in the other then it would be the third closest (with two other teams being joint closest.) I don't know if that has made things clearer or murkier. @Clint, Alasdair is right, it is based on finishing positions not the placings of the grid. I do believe this generally to be clear but I can understand the confusion seeing as every other logic puzzle I have seen here is based on adjacency on the grid as you see it not the positions in a league format. 	Only took about 30 minutes and several fails to complete. Great quiz, could be quite frustrating when given a choice of two and getting it wrong!
