uhoh, not the "Y is a vowel, no it's a consonant" argument again!

p.s. I think it's a vowel in all of these cases. Just thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Sorted it. :) Everyone just pretend you are 6 years old, when Pluto was a planet, Yugoslavia was a country and there were only 5 vowels all the time. Its a happier life honestly. :D

Ivory Coast might be a nice bonus answer. Otherwise, fun quiz.

@bsd987 Was thing about Ivory Coast and East Timor as bonuses but it figured it opened a gate for the inclusion of 3 million other countries when using alternative/official/lengthened forms so decided to leave them out completely.

i found consolation that 10% of the rest of sporcle is as big an idiot as me, and got marshall islands without getting solomon islands. you know, because solomon only has one consonant at its end, while marshall has two. .... dammitall.

Except for Kyrgystan (which has *three* consecutive consonants, not *eight*), every answer with a "y" shouldn't be on here. Period.

Y *can* be a consonant, but clearly not when it's functioning as a vowel!!
