Your source doesn't say that these are the world's ten "most religious cities," which is a far-fetched claim to make. It only says that they are "ten of the world's most religious cities," a very subjective way of looking at interesting cities.

Bethlehem yes, but Nazareth no? Also, Haifa is not a very religious city. There are way more appropriate answers. Very subjective, I would check into it more.

I think Haifa is there for the Bahais. And generally there is only one per religion (with Islam excepted), so that would explain why Bethlehem but not Nazareth.

Bethlehem isn't in Israel, by the way. It's in the Palestinian Authority.

@geo25:I think Bethlehem would be more so than Nazareth, since the story of Jesus birth is talked about several times in the New Testament, but almost nothing is really mentioned of his upbringing in Nazareth. Plus the church of the naitivity is there

@rooster: Jerusalem is not just a holy site for Islam fyi, so yes there are 2 Christian holy sites too. If they were ranked, Jerusalem would have to be #1, seeing at it is the holiest site for 2 of 3 major religions, and a very holy site for the other.

Also, Tibet is not a country. It's an autonomous region of China.
