You may be able to get over half with six or seven answers, but it's the less dominant ones that makes it interesting.

I like the Daily Show, but it making top 10 of decade is absurd.

i respectfully disagree with the previous post. also it was named on 8 out of 9 polls, so its no fluke that its on here.

The omission I am most surprised by is South Park. Maybe it is too vulgar for critics, but a lot of professional comedians respect and even admire that show. I'm even more surprised that South Park never made it, but Family Guy did.

Entertainment Weekly has lost all credibility with me. Having The Wire all the way down at 6 was bad enough, but to have it behind The Sopranos and American Idol??

For a second I seriously thought of giving The Comeback a shot and then I was like "hahaha, what, there's no way that'd be on there." Turns out I was wrong! I'm proud on getting 10 out of 10 on The AV Club's list, though, because that's the one my sensibilities skew closest to.

I am shocked to find out I watch or watched 8 out of the 10 on The Huffington Post list. The other list were 5 or 6 out of 10.

@twarner50: South Park started its run in 1997 and didn't end during the 2000s, so that could be why it couldn't crack a single list. What I'm not, then, 100% sure about is how the Daily Show met the criteria, as it started in 1996, and even added host Jon Stewart well before the cutoff date in 1999.

@feste26 I don't think that your reasoning is as accurate, as Freaks and Geeks and the Sopranos began in the 1990s. I believe South Park made it to a couple of these lists below #10 (deservingly or not), which would be the better reason for its exclusion.

^So did Modern Family and Parks and Recreation, two of the best shows I've ever seen, let alone on TV right now. Freaks and Geeks should be on more. :/

Nine top ten lists and I've only seen two of the shows (three if you count the UK and US versions of The Office as separate). Proof that I am out of touch with popular culture.

It's nice to see AD, along with reassurance that EW is not my source of reading for a reason. When American Idol AD, the Wire and UK Office, you know there's nothing of value at EW. Even in comparison to other reality shows, Survivor and Amazing Race blow AI out of the water.

Being from the Baltimore area, I am proud and also sad the the Wire is the most accurate portrayal of an American City. Best show never to nominated for an Emmy.

Just wondering how they came up with these lists/what the criteria was. It's hard to figure. Just wondering how AD, which got canceled despite being critically acclaimed, would end up on the same list as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also, Gilmore Girls? Wouldn't that be like having Hannah Montana in the top ten? I thought that show was for middle school kids with overprotective parents.
