1990 and 1992 Oiler was a WR pretty sure

I thought so too, but they are listed as Tight Ends on Reference site.. (Pro Football Reference is extremely reliable).

Nice quiz! If there's a way to make it so you don't have to scroll down as far, that would be good.

lol he was 5-9 178 pounds, and considered a TE...

@12bball: I did do my best to shrink it, but I can't get that 1990 group to fit above that line where you have ... But this is the best I could do... Thanks, for the compliment.

He was always a wide receiver - I don't know what Pro Football Reference is talking about.

@Squinta: On his profile, his stats show him playing Tight End from 1990-1993... Here is the link http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GiviEr00.htm

Gonna need to carve out the next 10 years for Gronkowski.

I have now checked a few other sources and none of them have Givins as a Tight End... Vote up if you think I should take Givins off of quiz.

I wonder if pro football reference has an issue in showing the proper starters for a run and shoot team. Givins was definitely never a TE.

yeah ernest givins definitely has to be removed. he has no right being called a te, i dont think he even knew what the term block mean.

You wouldn't believe how long I've waited to see Bubba Franks in a quiz

What about tight ends who make the Pro Bowl for long snapping or other special teams play? For example, Kendall Gammon made the Pro Bowl in 2004 and was listed on the Chiefs roster as the 3rd TE, though he also handled long-snapping duties. I don't see him on here, so I already know how you've chosen to handle this. I'm just playing devil's advocate and mentioning that there are tight ends who made the Pro Bowl who aren't in this quiz. Maybe list them as bonus answers?

On a pro bowl roster, those people would not be considered voted in as tight ends. Kassim Osgood was a WR, but he made it as a special teamer (not a WR).

I was a huge Oilers fan and can tell you that they did not have a tight end on the roster. I think qfl1 has it right when he says the 4WR offence screwed up football database. In fact the first TE I ever rooted for as a kid was Houston Oiler: Frank Wycheck who was our first tight end in many years.

Also, I had the thought during the quiz: "I can't believe Ben Coats never made a pro-bowl, that is crazy". Turns out I was technically right, nobody named Ben Coats ever made the pro bowl.

Givins was a Mouse Davis TE... a-la the run-n-shoot type. Not really one except for purposes of lineup listings, technically just a slot WR, but yes, PFR and others list him as a TE. Ethan Horton was a great running back at UNC, but the Raiders turned him into a TE... like Billy Cannon and keith Byars before him.
