Time was perfect. Marino was so awesome. If he'd just got that one ring he'd be in the top 3 QBs ever.

Marino is my personal favorite NFL athlete of all time.

Marino is a complete exception because he was a winner, even though he never won the big game. He had an arm, that (although Aaron Rodger's throwing motion is similar this season) has never been seen since.

I say that the Top 2 QB's of All Time based on ability have to be Montana and Marino.

I love games where I get more bonus answers than real answers. Frustrating, but it's fun.

Tim Tebow pretty obviously needs to be a bonus answer.

Ability meaning what? Physical skills? Marino, Peyton Manning, Tarkenton. Winners and leaders? Montana, Brady, Unitas.

My list of best QBs: 1) Elway, 2) Manning, 3) Marino, 4) Brady, 5) Montana. The list is restricted to QBs that I actually saw play, which only goes back to the mid-80s.

Impressive stat: Tebow's 6 Comebacks equal that of Y.A. Tittle and Norm Van Brocklin. To put things in perspective, Kurt Warner had 9 throughout his entire career. For Tebow, its practically every other game.

It really illuminates the ability of some to work well under pressure and lead a team under less than ideal conditions. Great quiz

Kurt Warner only had 9 fourth quarter comebacks primarily because, for a 4-year stretch, he was a dominant force. He rarely needed to come from behind.

Brady has only 5 more than Eli. Brady's been in the league 4 years longer.

And Roethlisberger is right there, because he's so strong and can keep a play going til he finds a receiver.

Great bonus inclusions. The most shocking guy on the list in my opinion: I guess there really isn't one. The most shocking guy off the list in my opinion: Roger Staubach. I thought he had more than 15 comeback wins against the Redskins alone.

I guessed 14 different QB's less than 20; Bradshaw, Brees, Delhomme, Johnson, Eli Manning, Plunkett, Kitna, Brunell, McNabb, McNair, Williams, Aikman, Namath, and TeBLOW.

Interesting to see that only Montana and Unitas were multiple championship/ Super Bowl winners in the first column. Maybe this statistic is overrated?

Why do I always forget Cunningham in these QB quizzes? I'm very surprised Ferguson made this list. And I've lived in western New York and followed the Bills all my life!

This way of counting gives an advantage to those with long careers. I reworked the numbers from the source to take the number of games played by each QB into account. (Even better would be number of games where the QB was behind at the start of the 4th qtr -- how often did that happen to Bart Starr?? -- but that info wasn't at the source.) I started to write a comment that listed what I found, and then thought it was actually a pretty good quiz on its own. So I made it: http://www.sporcle.com/games/david6k/nfl-qb-comebacks-another-look

@taddg1 Elway had to wait until he was 37 years old to win his first. You're right, but with a * !

Maybe you could put an asterisk next to the 1991-2010 for Brett Favre. Just to be on the safe side.

i feel like the qb comeback is overrated. a truly great qb would never let his team fall behind in the first place. i enjoyed the quiz though

@ cardiaccats: Well then if you are looking for looking for truly great quarterbacks, then look elsewhere.. (extreme sarcasm). Have you seen the list? DM, JM, and JE (dont want to give away freebie answers) alone make it hard to beat, you couldn't come up with non-listers that come even close in greatness. And how dare you bad mouth Vinny T like that! lol
